The Good Egg
By: Emmanuel Reyna
On a recent morning I stopped by a very well known and successful restaurant known as The Good Egg. As you make your way in, you have the option to sit inside or out on the patio. The enormous umbrellas and natural plants make the restaurant’s patio come to life. It’s centrally located in Phoenix between the Osborn and Thomas Light Rail stations (stops #7 & 8). Inside, the restaurant is clean and well designed, with lots of natural light from the many windows. The menu is three pages long and includes a variety of healthy options. Overall, the dishes have an average price of $8 per dish which makes it affordable for a whole family eat-out. Once you look at the menu a bit closer, you will no longer be surprised of why the word “egg” is in the title! Most of the dishes include eggs. However if you like to vary from the theme of the restaurant, I would order the Vegginini Chicken Sandwich with a side of cooked potatoes. No egg on this one. The service was fast, very fast. It took no longer than five minutes to receive my food. Dish presentation was perfect, simple and to the point. The proportions are quite big and I saw many customers leave with extras for later. After finishing off my seasoned potatoes, I washed it down with a cool fresh glass of apple juice. So if you are looking for another breakfast place in central Phoenix, stop by and try The Good Egg.
